Composer Jacob Denny was born in Olympia, WA and currently resides in Texas. He recently received a BM in Music Composition and a minor in Philosophy from the University of North Texas where he studied composition under Joseph Klein, Panayiotis Kokoras, William Coble, and Joshua Harris. Jacob has written for full orchestra, string orchestra, chamber ensembles, choirs, solo instruments, and fixed media. His works have been read by various orchestras, chamber ensembles, choirs, and solo performers. Jacob also has experience conducting the UNT Concert Orchestra. He has worked with a number of accomplished musicians on his own pieces and has performed with them as well, such as in the Grand Chorus with the Symphony Orchestra at the University of North Texas. Jacob also has written for films such as The Phoenix in 2015. He aspires to continue to grow as a composer and to develop as a film score composer.
Also, Jacob is an avid performer, appearing as a piano accompanist, a vocalist, and a conductor.
Jacob is also passionate about traveling and experiencing the world and has traveled with his trusty bicycle and backpack all over the world to places such as Japan and Thailand.
